Summary

What the sources describe

Checked 2026-09-25

Salesforce’s 2024 careers articles describe a common first week for every hire followed by role-specific programs. Its sales programs rely on simulated customer scenarios and end with an onboarding certification.

First weeks
  • Every hire starts with a five-day program, “Discovering Salesforce”, in person near a Salesforce Tower or virtually elsewhere. S08
  • Each new hire is assigned a “Trail Guide”, an informal mentor for the first few months. S08
  • Customer Success hires then join a 3-day bootcamp; Tech & Product hires join a four-day program before team-specific training. S08
  • Sales onboarding differs by role, with separate tracks for SDRs/BDRs, Account Executives and sales leaders. S09
  • Sales hires practise through simulated customer scenarios, pitch presentations judged by peers and sales leaders, and shadowing a more experienced seller. S09
  • Salesforce reports that nearly 90% of new hires agree, after their first week, that they have the information and resources to ramp up. S08
First months
  • The sales program closes with each person earning an onboarding sales certification, described as the benchmark for starting to work with prospects or customers. S08

Absence here does not mean Salesforce lacks it; the reviewed sources simply do not say.

WeekOne adaptation

What to borrow, and confirm locally

  • Separate company induction from role training, and give each role its own track.
  • Gate independent customer contact on a scored simulation, not on time in role.
  • Pair every hire with an informal mentor in addition to their manager.
